Lahore, Pakistan: The launching ceremony of the poetry book titled “Mera Unvaan Tum Ho” written by the famous writer Naheed Iqrar was held in Lahore.
The ceremony was addressed by Tauqeer Sharifi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Agha Iqrar Haroon, Prof Ahmed Aleem, Karim Ahmed, Rashid Lahori, Khalid Sharif, Shagufta Ghazal Hashmi, Shahin Ashraf, Kanwal Behzad, Ruqayya Akbar while Zeb Insa and Rabia Rehman performed the duties of moderators. Prof Dr. Akhtar Sandhu, veteran writer Saeed Javed, and veteran lawyer Saleem Hassan also grace the event.
The event was hosted by senior journalist and anchorperson Isar Rana who is Chairman of Qalam Doost Tanzeem whose forum held this event.
Published by Mavra Publishers Lahore, the book will serve as a treat for literature lovers across the Country. Veteran poets and writers who addressed the event were of the view that Naheed explains life experiences not as a woman but rather as a human who has to go through phases and changes and has to face the brunt of life if wants to stay on the honest and right side of history.
They added she used simple dictions and metaphors that is one of the reason that her message is loud, clear and simple to understand.
Hailing from a famous literary family of Pakistan, Naheed Iqrar has been writing poetry for the last 40 years and had been the editor of her college magazine in early 80s. She is also a popular voice of Radio Pakistan and has been awarded the Outstanding Voice status from Radio Pakistan Lahore Station.
By profession, a Radio Broadcaster, Naheed earned her master’s degrees in Urdu literature and Philosophy from the Government College Lahore (now known as GCU).
Her book “Mera Unvaan Tum Ho” is available at Mavra Publishers, 60 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Lahore.
