ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said the nation, along with the country’s brave armed forces, was fully prepared and ready to defend the motherland from any sort of aggression.
Chairing a meeting of the federal cabinet the Prime Minister said his government was committed to the welfare of the people and development of the country. The government desired to end poverty and unemployment in the country and achieve progress and prosperity, he added.
“We wish peace for these objectives, but I must make it clear that each and every person of this country was ready to defend its motherland. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its brave armed forces. No one will be allowed to cast an evil eye against Pakistan,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said Kashmir was part of an unfinished agenda of the partition of the sub-continent that cannot be overlooked.
“The atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian forces cannot suppress the freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir,” the Prime Minister said.
“Indian aggression against the people of Kashmir is unacceptable,” the Prime Minister said.
The Cabinet took up the issue of situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry briefed the Cabinet.
