ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while approving the draft Action Plan to improve Human Rights situation in Pakistan, further ordered that an amount of Rs 400 million would be provided for human rights education, sensitization, awareness, research and communication.

Out of this total amount, Rs 150 million would be allocated during the current financial year through a supplementary grant while Rs 250 million through budgetary allocations in FY 2016-17, said a press release of PM Office Media Wing on Saturday.

An amount of Rs 250 million would be allocated for the National Institute of Human Rights through Public-Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocations of Rs 100 million during the current financial year and Rs 150 million during the FY 2016-17.

While another amount of Rs 100 million would be allocated for Endowment Fund during the current financial year for extending legal aid to the poor victims of human rights violation.

Ministry of Human Rights has been directed to prepare detailed guidelines for a transparent use of the Endowment Fund.
