ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday lauded the services and contribution made by the outgoing Ambassador of Argentine Rodolfo Martin J Sarawia, who he said, `shared our joys and sorrows.’

Addressing the farewell reception in honor of the outgoing diplomat, the Prime Minister said during his tenure, Rodolfo J Martin made untiring efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Argentine.

He made many friends here and apart from his duties, he was an extraordinary member of the diplomatic corp, he added.

The Prime Minister said in recognition of the outgoing ambassador’s meritorious services, the Government of Pakistan conferred on him Hilal-e-Pakistan, country’s highest civil award.

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude and felicitations to the members of the diplomatic corp including the wives of the diplomats for striving to further strengthen the ties between Pakistan and their respective countries.

He said Pakistan valued the commitment of the foreign diplomats to bring their countries closer to Pakistan.

He also appreciated the meritorious services of Susana Martin, the spouse of the outgoing ambassador, who also played her indispensable part to further cement the bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said his government, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was always committed to keep its door open to the diplomatic corps and wished the diplomats a productive and comfortable stay in Pakistan.

He also wished the outgoing ambassador the best for his future endeavors and conveyed his sincere wishes to their families as well as their respective heads of the state.
