ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted shared prosperity in South Asian region through regional connectivity.
In an interview, he told APP that it is the vision of the Prime Minister to promote trade relations in South Asian region through regional connectivity for achieving shared prosperity in the region and for the common good of its people.
The Commerce Minister specially mentioned US $46 billion Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC) which would not only benefit Pakistan but also benefit the people of entire region.
Replying to a question about trade with India, the Commerce Minister said that government wants good relations with all its neighboring countries.
He added that Pakistan also wanted to resolve all outstanding issues with India through comprehensive dialogue process for peace and prosperity in the region.
Regional trade, he said would help generate trade and economic activities and create employment opportunities for the people in the region and also help reduce poverty.
To promote trade, he said Pakistan also wanted to provide Non-Discriminatory Market Access (NDMA) to India on reciprocity.
Dastagir said the government firmly believes in the revival of the economy and maintained that regional cooperation is important for the economic future of the country.
