ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said democratic institutions of the country should play their positive role for the strengthening of democratic norms and values.
Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan was faced with a number of challenges both at internal and external fronts. He said the need of the hour is that political forces must show unity to find a permanent solution to these problems.
Impressing upon the need to reinvigorate the Senate‚ the Prime Minister said that it has a very important role in legislative business and in ensuring transparency and accountability amongst government institutions and bodies.
Talking to MNA Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari in Islamabad the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the government is taking steps to address the energy crisis.
He said aggressive economic policy will be pursued for progress and prosperity of the country.
Sardar Awais Leghari apprised the Prime Minister on issues and problems of his constituency and southern Punjab.
The Prime Minister assured that problems of his constituency and other less developed areas of the country would be resolved and steps would be taken to ensure equal distribution of resources.
