ISLAMABAD: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is making all-out efforts to complete the 969 megawatts Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower project by 2016 as per schedule.
WAPDA official said in Islamabad that the project besides generating the much needed hydel electricity‚ is also of immense importance for the country to establish priority water rights.
The project on its completion will contribute 5.15 billion units of low cost electricity to the national grid every year and its annual benefits have been estimated at about forty-five billion rupees.
