ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Governor Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon has said that new Visa Policy is quite welcoming for the promotion of tourism.
Raja Jalal Hussain made these remarks in a meeting the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday, in which Developmental Projects and Constitutional Rights of GB came under discussion in lieu of recent Supreme Court’s orders on GB Constitutional Rights.
Yesterday, the federal government introduced a new visa policy to encourage tourism in the Country. Under the policy, tourists have now been allowed to visit all parts of the Country including open cantonments, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan without taking any non-objection certificate (NOC).

Talking to the governor Gilgit Baltistan, Ali Amin Gandapur said that suggestions to empower GB will be presented the Federal Cabinet meeting.
Gandapur said that a huge investment is expected in Gilgit Baltistan regarding tourism. He said that advanced machinery and state of the art medical beds will be provided in GB hospitals.
The minister said that fruit plants will be planted in GB under the billion tree program. He said that forming cold storage in GB and Islamabad is also under consideration for safe delivery of fruits.
The federal minister said that facilitation will also be provided to increase trout fish output.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that solid measures will be taken for the provision of advance facilities in educational institutions. He said that 2019 will prove to be an important milestone in national development and prosperity.
