ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has finalized a plan to establish 14 Emergency Response Centres (ERCs) in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at suitable places side by side national highways.

These Emergency Response Centres would be equipped with various facilities including doctors, paramedics and ambulances to provide timely aid and care to those injured in road accidents on the National Highways, said a document of the Ministry of Communication.

The construction of Emergency Response Centres would be completed within the next six months and operationalised by the end of current year.

The planned Emergency Response Centres would be established at N-50 Dhansar, N-50, Mina Bazar; N-25 Kalat; N-25, Surab; N-25, Wad; N-25, Koraro; N-85, Nag; N-85, Wangu and N-85, Hoshab. While the locations to establish three ERCs at N-10 and two emergency response centres at N-70 would be decided subsequently.

The NHA was already providing various facilities at different toll plazas of National Highways including drinking water, abulation place, prayer place and first Aid Medical Facility.
