KANDAHAR: At least nine persons including two Afghan security guards were killed and 15 others injured in a roadside bomb blast in southern Afghanistan, officials said on Monday.
The blast took place in the Shahjoy district of Zabul province late Sunday, Muhammad Jan Rasoulyar, the Zabul deputy governor, said adding that the target of the bomb blast was the deputy police chief.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Afghan government officials often blame the Taliban militant group for such attacks.
