PESHAWAR, Pakistan: As many as nine terrorists were killed and their six hideouts were destroyed in aerial strikes in Khyber agency along the Pak-Afghan border on Saturday.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that air strikes were carried out by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Tirah Valley and Rajgal Valley of Khyber agency where operations are continuing to eliminate terrorists and effectively check and guard against terrorists movement along high mountains and all weather passes in the tribal region.

The ISPR said that a huge ammunition cache was also destroyed in the operation.

Both ground and air forces are engaged in operations being conducted in Tirah and Rajgal Valleys along the Pak-Afghan border.

Earlier on Friday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited the Rajgal Valley and received a briefing on progress of operations and gains consolidated so far.

The COAS showed satisfaction over progress of the operation, and directed enhanced vigilance and pro-active approach to stop any type of movement of terrorists.
