ISAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday called for need of joint efforts by Pakistan and Iran against those elements who are trying to disrupt peace and causing instability in the region.
Talking to the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Hunerdost who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday, the minister said that taking advantage of favourable atmosphere prevailed as a result of high level bilateral visits, there was a need to further expedite efforts on all resolvable issues between the two countries.
The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest as well as strengthening of bilateral ties and cooperation in different areas during the meeting.
The interior minister further said that to implement already settled matters between Pakistan and Iran within timeframe, there is a need to regularly review the set targets.
Nisar said that there is also need to further improve mechanism between the two countries introduced to control organize crime, human smuggling, security of borders and timely information sharing.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Iranian envoy lauded Pakistani government’s efforts in eliminating terrorism from the country.
