ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Director General Operations Pakistan Railways Aftab Akbar on Tuesday said no increase is made in fares despite rising prices of petroleum products.
“Pakistan Railways has its own mechanism to set fares and we have some capacity to absorb any change in input prices,” Aftab Akbar told the state-run news agency.
The Director General said there is still some cushion available to keep fares at the same level and these would not be increased as a consequence of the current rise in POL prices.
He said at present there is no proposal to increase fares, which were increased last time in September 2012.
