LAHORE, Pakistan: The Zimbabwean Cricket Team Captain Elton Chigumbura has said that there is no security issue in Pakistan as the first test-playing nation began Pakistan tour after a gap of six years.
In a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday afternoon, Chigumbura said that he is thankful to Pakistan for better security arrangement and warm welcome to his team.
“I am very pleased on coming here. The Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Cricket Board has put in place brilliant arrangements for the tour,” Chigumbura said.
The head of the Zimbabwean delegation and the former country’s Cricket chief executive Ozias Bvute said that team members are here to play cricket and meet brothers in Pakistan.
“We are here to support Pakistan,” Ozias Bvute said.
“We are here to play cricket and we will play cricket. We are satisfied with the security arrangements and all players have come here voluntarily.”
Zimbabwe Cricket team is in Lahore to play two Twenty20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against Pakistan.
Two T20s will be played on May 22 and 24 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore while three ODIs will be played on May 26, 29 and 31 at the same venue.
