Months after ending all Covid related curbs on arrivals in the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has rolled out a convenient payment method under which the Hajj pilgrims can pay in three easy instalments, in contrary of paying the total amount in one go.

Hajj on Instalments

In a tweet shared by the official account of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, it said, ‘pilgrims can pay for Hajj package as partial payment and in separate periods’.

The poster shared by Saudi authorities reads, “Payment Option for Hajj Season 1444/2023 for Domestic Pilgrims”.

It said that Saudi authorities have allowed only domestic pilgrims to pay 20 per cent of the total amount as the first instalment within 72 hours of making a reservation for the Islamic pilgrimage.

After booking the slot with tentative payment, the second instalment of 40 per cent of the total cost will need to be paid by Rajab January 7, 29). The final payment should be made by Shawwal 10 — April 30, less than eight weeks before the start of Hajj 2023.

A separate invoice will be issued for all three payments while the reservation status is confirmed after completing all charges. It also warned that the reservation would be cancelled if the pilgrim failed to make the payments before the deadline mentioned above.

With the latest updates, Ministry also started electronic registration for booking a spot for Hajj this week, under which domestic pilgrims can apply via the official website or Nusuk portal.

KSA announces Four Hajj Packages for Domestic Pilgrims

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced four Hajj packages for domestic pilgrims, setting the minimum price for domestic pilgrims at SAR 3,984 excluding (VAT).

The cheapest package costs from 10,596 to 11,841; the second from 8,092 to 8,458; the third costs 13,150; and the fourth package, which provides economical services to the pilgrims, costs SR3,984. All prices include value-added tax (VAT), Saudi Gazette reported.

Pre-requisites & Rules

  • Saudi Arabia announced that the minimum age for the pilgrimage is 12 years.
  • Those who have not performed the Hajj in the past will be given priority over repeaters.
  • Women’s Mahram excluded from the priority advantage
  • National ID or residency (iqama) must be valid until the end of Dhul Hijjah 1444 AH
  • Applicants must be immunized against Covid-19, seasonal flu, ACYW meningitis
