Besides Pakistan, the representatives from Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and other Member Countries will also attend the Session.
The BJP-led government in New Delhi on Monday revoked Article 370 of the Constitution through a Presidential Order, ending the Special Status given to the State of Occupied Kashmir.
Under the Presidential Order, the Special Status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was abolished and it was made a Union Territory under the Indian Federation.
Pakistan strongly condemned and rejected the Indian illegal act to abrogate Jammu and Kashmir’s Special Status, and also summoned the Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria to its Foreign Office in Islamabad and conveyed a strong demarche on the announcements made and actions taken by the New Delhi government with regard to Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also wrote a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations and apprised him about the critical situation of the Occupied Kashmir and Line of Control (LoC).
Qureshi stressed upon the United Nations to play its due role against Indian violations, and urge New Delhi against resorting to illegal actions which could threaten regional peace and security.
