DIR: A soldier and eight militants were killed in a clash after insurgents from the Afghan side of the border attacked the Pakistani security forces in Upper Dir district late Wednesday night, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 27 September, 2012.
The sources said that the clash occurred in Karakar area in Barawal tehsil near the Pak-Afghan border. The security forces repulsed the attack and killed eight attackers in the gunfight, the sources claimed.
