RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: One Civilian woman embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) while nine Citizens suffered injuries when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked cease fire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) targeting civil population in Shahkot Sector on Monday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a statement, the ISPR said that the deceased woman was named as Asia Bibi. It said that the nine injured persons also included two women and three children.

The ISPR said that Pakistan army troops responded effectively to those Indian posts targeting civil population.

Meanwhile in a statement, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Masood Khan strongly condemned Indian shelling in Shahkot Sector of Neelum Valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Masood Khan said that the Indian firing from across the LoC is cowardice act to deter AJK people from supporting struggle of their brothers and sisters in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The President AJK said that India should be held responsible for a wanton loss of human lives and also appealed to United Nations Secretary General António Guterres to take notice of unprovoked shelling by India.
