Subject: Repatriation of Aafia Siddiqui and Release of Missing Persons

 aafia-siddiqui-608

Respected Sir,

Asalamo Alykum,

Sir, we have a very simple question. Is the Pakistani government interested in the repatriation if Aafia Siddiqui or not?

If yes, why has any move not been made yet? Many international activists and delegations have come to Pakistan just to inform us that repatriation of Aafia Siddiqui is possible and they even spelled out the technical avenues for it. Then for what reason is our government sitting mute?

Sir, you are in a position to understand the intricacies of law better than ordinary people. Please collaborate with all those national and international people and organizations who are sincerely interested in the freedom of Aafia Siddiqui and find a legal and unchallengeable way out for her.

If there are certain elements in Pakistan who fear the return of Aafia Siddiqui, then please let Aafia and her family be accommodated in Saudia Arabia or some other Muslim country.

Also, with respect to the growing internal terrorism in Pakistan, I want to say that we must rule the land with absolute justice. Injustice most certainly breeds terrorism. Pakistan must surface all Missing Persons and deal with them justly according to the law. Do not keep their families in the dark for they know neither the allegation upon their family members and nor their location. Tell and prove their crime or let them go home.

In all cases, human rights and the Geneva Convention has been severely violated. If we want safety and security for ourselves, our children and our future generations, we must clear up the horrible mess we have created and respect life and security of all around us.

Sir, we have full faith in your sincerity, commitment and sense of responsibility towards your position and the Grace of Allah Almighty upon you. Please do not disappoint us and do live up to the tradition of revolution that the black gowns have set since the Free Judiciary Movement (2007 – 2009). May Allah Almighty be with you and reward you the best in this world and the Hereafter, Ameen.
