ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: More than 200,000 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine across Pakistan on May 4, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said.

In a statement on Wednesday, Asad Umar said that a surge in the registration process for vaccination against COVID-19 has also been witnessed, and by now, the number of people having registered themselves for vaccination has surpassed 5,000,000.

The minister asked the people of 40 years of age and above to register themselves for vaccination at the earliest and ensure the compliance of COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Meanwhile, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 119 more people died of Coronavirus while 4,113 new infections were registered across the Country in the last 24 hours.

The latest statistics issued by the NCOC showed that 44,838 COVID-19 tests were conducted across the Country on May 4, and 4,113 of them returned positive with a ratio of 9.17%.

In the last 24 hours, 58 COVID-19 patients died in Punjab, 43 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9 in Sindh, 5 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), and 4 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

So far, a total of 841,636 Coronavirus Cases have been detected in Pakistan since the beginning while 18,429 people have succumbed to the disease.
