Overseas Pakistani workers remitted an amount of 9.23 billion dollars in the first eight months of the last fiscal year from July 2012 to February 2013.
A World Bank report said remittances play an important role in the development of rural areas in developing world.
It said the remittances flow to the entire developing world is expected to reach 534 billion dollars in 2015.
