RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that enhanced Pakistan-Russia military to military cooperation will have positive impact on the regional security, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations.
In a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Yurevich Devov at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday in which matters related to regional security were discussed, the COAS thanked him for Russian concerns, acknowledgments and ongoing cooperation between the two countries and its armed forces.
The Russian envoy appreciated the launching of Operation ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ which will play an important role in elimination of terrorism from Pakistan. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in right against terrorism and initiatives for economic growth.
The visiting ambassador also condemned recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan and expressed grief on behalf of Russia, the ISPR said.
