ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed the Signing of Agreement with China Gezhouba for the Azad Pattan Hydropower Project at a Ceremony in Islamabad on Monday.

A part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with an investment of US$1.5 billion, 700.7 megawatts (MW) Azad Pattan Hydropower Project will involve no fuel import, thus enabling the Country to move towards cheaper & greener power while generating local job opportunities.

Earlier in the day, the Chairman CPEC Authority Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the Azad Pattan Hydropower Project is another milestone under the CPEC, envisaging an investment of US$1.5 billion.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said that we move towards cheaper and greener power.

Earlier on June 26, Pakistan signed an agreement with China worth US$2.4 billion for 1,124 megawatts Kohala Hydropower Project, the Country’s largest power sector investment in a single Independent Power Producer (IPP) till date.
