RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan army considers it a national commitment to positively contribute towards the successful accomplishment of population census.
“Census will be completed at all cost,” the COAS said when he visited the Army Census Support Centre (Army CSC) established at Headquarters Army Air Defence Command in Rawalpindi on Monday.
In a press release, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during the visit, the COAS was given detailed briefing on support being extended to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and progress of census so far.
The COAS appreciated efforts of the Army CSC and all involved for the good job being done.
General Bajwa also paid rich tributes to the martyred soldiers and civil enumerators who laid their lives while performing this duty. He said that smooth conduct is collective success of Pakistan army and the government.
Earlier on his arrival at the Army CSC, the COAS was received by the Chairman Army CSC (Commander Army Air Defence Command) Lieutenant General Zahid Latif Mirza.
