RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan army troops are assisting the civil administration for rescue and relief of affected population due to land slide near Laswa village and flash flood in Neelum Jhelum River at Nauseri, Danni, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

At least 22 people have reportedly been killed and seven others injured in a flash flood at Leswa village in Neelum valley, Azad Kashmir.

In a press release, the IPSR said that relief camps have been established in the flood-hit area. It said that 52 stranded individuals have been evacuated through helicopter to camps/safer places. It added that search operation for drowned persons is in the progress.

The ISPR further said that relief effort also includes provision of food, rations and medical care.

According to initial report of State Disaster Management Authority, Lesva bazaar has fully been damaged in the flood. As many as, 120 houses, 70 shops were fully damaged while two basic health units, six vehicles and a number of motor bikes washed away in the flood.
