ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Qatar Charity, and Pakistan Institute of Prosthetics & Orthotic Science (PIPOS) have inked a tri-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the provision of Artificial Limbs to the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Matta, Swat.

During a ceremony held here in PBM’s head office, the Managing Director PBM Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, the Country Director Qatar Charity Ameen Abdul Rahman, and the Coordinator PIPOS Peshawar Dr. Javed Ghani signed the MoU.

PBM has completed the process to find out 145 deserving PWDs of the area that became disabled either from the sad episodes of terrorism activities or IED blasts and accidents. Qatar Charity will sponsor these deserving PWDs for the Artificial Limbs through PIPOS.

While addressing the ceremony, Malik Zaheer Abbas expressed his gratitude to Qatar Charity for extending generous support to arrange artificial limbs to the PWDs aimed at ensuring their mobility.

Malik Zaheer Abbas said that the present government realizes the significance of empowering the PWDs thus taking concrete measures to uplift their lives under the Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Program.

The managing director PBM told that previously, PBM in collaboration with Qatar Charity has provided Artificial Limbs to the PWDs in Balochistan Province giving them equal opportunities in the society by ensuring their mobility and sovereignty.

Highlighting the importance of PWDs autonomous life, the Country Director Qatar Charity Ameen Abdul Rahman expressed his contentment for the joint ventures with PBM towards humanitarian relief activities in the Country.

Ameen Abdul Rahman also vowed for the continued support to provide the fundamental rights of PWDs enabling them to become a productive citizen of the Country.

The Coordinator PIPOS Dr. Javed Ghani told these PWDs will be provided the best available artificial limbs including Bionic Hands, under the supervision of an expert medical team of the centre.
