ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: While providing assistance to destitute and other needy persons, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal has provided Rs 348 million under its two welfare schemes during first three quarters of previous fiscal year.
Sources in Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal said on Wednesday that the ongoing core schemes are National Centres for Rehabilitation of Child Labour (NCsRCL) and Institutional Rehabilitation for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
Sources said that 159 NCsRCL have been established countrywide for primary education.
The children, male and female, between ages 5-6 years are weaned away from hazardous labour and enrolled in these centers.
Under this project, an amount of Rs 318 million has been spent during the period mentioned.
Moreover, sources said that the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal provides grant-in-aid to registered NGO, having excellent track record for institutional rehabilitation of the poor and deserving persons of society, especially for persons required cataract surgeries.
During first nine months of last year, an amount of Rs 30 million has been disbursed under the scheme.
