ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Belarus on Wednesday principally agreed to explore further vistas for bilateral cooperation in numerous sectors with special regard to Defence Production, Science and Technology.
A high level Belarus delegation met Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain and discussed matters of mutual interest, particularly cooperation in the field defence production.
The delegation to visit Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, National Radio and Telecommunication (NRTC) Haripur and Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO), Islamabad.
Rana Tanveer Hussain on the accession said the Pakistan-Belarus cooperation in defence would provide healthy framework for both countries. The two sides agreed that there existed a potential for Pakistan and Belarus to collaborate in the fields of defence and science and technology.
Rana Tanveer Hussain recalled his visit to Minsk in 2014, terming it productive and said the high level visits between the two countries had extensively contributed to strengthening of bilateral relations.
He extended formal invitation to defence producing companies of Belarus for participating in Pakistan’s upcoming Defence expo – IDEAS 2016.
The delegation tried to persuade Ministry of Defence Production to buy military trucks and optical devices.
They proposed for formation of the working group for cooperation in field of UAVs.
Pakistan and Belarus share a cordial history of bilateral relations in economy, trade and defence. Both countries are maintaining agreements on trade, economic cooperation and investment protection.
