NEW YORK: Pakistan has called upon the international community to strengthen cooperation in fighting terrorism.
In his address at the UN Security Council in York, the prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz expressed continued resolve of the Pakistani government in fighting terrorism.
The adviser urged the international community to fight against terrorism in a comprehensive and effective manner including resolution of conflicts and countering radicalization and violent extremism.
Later, the 15-member council adopted a unanimous resolution agreeing on measures to curb terrorist fighters and stem their growth.
