ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have agreed to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership and diversify cooperation in political‚ economic‚ maritime‚ aerospace‚ energy‚ transportation and cultural fields, a joint statement issued in Islamabad on Thursday stated.
Both the countries decided to further deepen practical cooperation in all sectors and strengthen coordination on international and regional issues, the statement said which was issued after conclusion of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang’s two-day official visit to Pakistan.
The statement said that the two sides agreed to jointly develop the Long-Term Plan for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor on the basis of thorough study‚ trade and economic cooperation between China and Pakistan.
They agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of maritime security‚ search and rescue and disaster relief at sea‚ maritime scientific research and environmental protection‚ and blue economy.
The two sides would take necessary measures to actively explore expanding air routes for passenger travel and cargo transportation between the two countries‚ and increase the number of flights.
