WASHINGTON: The United States says Pakistan is closely cooperating on advancing the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
This has been stated by the US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan James Dobbins while speaking at a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington.
James Dobbins rejected the impression that Pakistan would hijack the Afghan reconciliation to serve its own interests.
He said the United States will work with the new civilian government in Pakistan having a clear mandate in the parliament to promote an intra-Afghan peace process.
