ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan attaches great significance to its ties with Egypt and desires to further promote and diversify bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interests.
In a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Egypt Sajid Bilal at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday, the president said that both Pakistan and Egypt enjoy close relations which need to be further strengthened in the areas of trade, culture, and defense.
The president felicitated the ambassador-designate on his appointment as Pakistan’s envoy to Egypt and expressed the confidence that he would make concerted efforts for improvement of bilateral relations with Egypt.
Dr. Arif Alvi hoped that the ambassador would focus on enhancing economic and defense cooperation between the two Countries.
President Arif Alvi asked the designated envoy to work for improving Pakistan’s image during his tenure in Egypt.
The president also asked him to highlight the Kashmir issue in the host Country, particularly the atrocities being committed by India against the Muslim population of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
