ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi has announced that 44 activists of banned outfits including the Chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) Masood Azhar’s brother Mufti Abdul Rauf and Hammad Azhar have been taken into custody.

In a Press Conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Shehryar Afridi said that the action was taken under the anti-terror National Action Plan (NAP).

Shehryar Afridi said that names of Mufti Abdul Rauf and Hammad Azhar were included in the dossier sent by India to Pakistan in the aftermath of Pulwama attack. He said that they detained persons would be interrogated.

The interior minister said that Pakistan took the initiative not bowing down to any foreign pressure but in our own interest.

Shehryar Afridi said that the operation against various banned militant organizations will continue for two weeks without any discrimination. He said that if they have to seize properties and bank accounts of any outfit, they wouldn’t demonstrate reluctance to do so.

The minister said that they would not allow anyone to use Pakistan’s soil against any other Country.
