MOSCOW, Russia: Pakistan Embassy in Moscow has expressed its heartfelt condolences with Russia on the tragic loss of lives in the passenger plane crash.

The Russian AN-26 passenger plane with 29 people on board including 23 passengers and six crew members crashed in the Far Eastern peninsula of Kamchatka on Tuesday.

“Our deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of the passengers, the crew and with the people of the Russian Federation,” said Pakistan Embassy in Moscow in a statement.

Reportedly, no person onboard the An-26 survived after the plane – en route from Kamchatka’s main city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the town of Palana – lost contact with air traffic control and crashed into a cliff.

“The wreckage of the plane was found near the village of Palana. Before the crash, it collided with a hill, which led to the destruction of the plane,” the Russian News Agency TASS said quoting a source in the Emergency Services.
