BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Faisal Niaz Tirmizi hoisted the national flag in a ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Bishkek on Saturday on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by Pakistanis and Kyrgyz from all walks of life living in Kyrgyzstan including Pakistani students studying in different institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
The ceremony began with recitation of the Holy Qur’an. After the national anthem was played, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi hoisted the national flag. The messages of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were read out on this occasion.
During the event, Ambassador of Pakistan interacted with community members and discussed the problems they faced in Kyrgyzstan as expatriate community and the role the Embassy could play to help resolve these issues.
The Ambassador also impressed upon the prominent Pakistani community members to play a positive role in improving trade ties between the two countries and help promote the soft image of Pakistan. He also mentioned progress made by Pakistan in all walks of life including economy, sports, defence and counter-terrorism.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi  hoped that the nation would soon hear good news about massive oil and gas discoveries by Exxon after its off-shore exploration on Pakistani coast. However, the real strength of Pakistan were its people who gave it strength and spunk to overcome all difficulties. He also informed the public about growing interface between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Prime Minister would be visiting Bishkek to lead the Pakistani delegation to the next SCO Summit in June 2019 which will be preceded by visits of Defence and Foreign Ministers as well as other senior officials.
This was the biggest Pakistan National Day event which was attended by over 300 guests. The event beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan through songs, dances and cuisines.
Pakistani cuisines and refreshments were served on the occasion which were greatly appreciated by guests.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Pakistan, its people and community members living in Kyrgyzstan.
