ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain Monday informed the National Assembly that the government has sold 9,505 guns of different calibre to different countries during the last three years.
During the question hour, the minister said that countries in which arms were sold included United Kingdom, United States of America, Kenya, South Korea, South Africa, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.
Rana Tanveer said that the government has also made its deals with United States and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to sell 375 different nature of arms.
To a question, the minister said that the quality of Pakistani arms was satisfactory and the government would provide more arms to KSA.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed told the National Assembly during the question hour that the House passed 145 government bills while the Senate passed 124 bills during the period from Jan 2008 to Jan 5, 2016.
The minister said that the status of the Private Members Bills is maintained by the National Assembly Secretariat and Senate Secretariat. He said that the present government introduced 66 government bills in the House.
