ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan exported spices worth US$37.81 million during first two-quarters of current financial year as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of last financial year.

During the period from July-December, 2016-17, about 9,730 metric tons of spices worth US$37.81 million exported which were up by 5.55 percent as compared to same period of last year.

According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, 9,696 metric tons of spices worth US$35.131 million exported in first two quarters of last financial year.

On month on month basis, about 1,925 metric tons of spices worth US$7.219 million exported during the month of December 2017 as compared to 2,164 metric tons valuing US$7.863 million of same month of last year, hence showing a decrease of 8.19 percent as compared to the corresponding month of last year.

Meanwhile, in first half of current financial year country earned US$20.134 million by exporting 13,355 metric tons of oil seed, nuts and kernals, which were up by 38.27 percent as compared to same period of last year.

In first six months of last financial year 10,601 metric tons of oil seed, nuts and kernals valuing US$14.561 million were exported.

During the period under review sugar exports from the Country registered 100 percent reduction as zero quantity of the sugar exported as compared to exports 20,117 metric tons valuing US$9.72 million of same period of last year.
