MUNICH, Germany: The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov on Friday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency reported.

The two sides held meaningful discussions in all areas of bilateral cooperation including political, security & defence cooperation, regional connectivity, peace & reconciliation process in Afghanistan as well as trade, tourism and investment promotion.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also briefed his counterpart about the new visa-facilitation process launched by Pakistan and hoped that Pakistan would also be included in the visa-facilitation programs currently extended to different countries by Uzbekistan.

The two foreign ministers also welcomed the frequent high-level interactions between the two sides in the last few months and undertook to upgrade bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi is currently in Munich to attend the three-day 55th International Security Conference.

Besides Qureshi, the Conference is also being attended by defense and foreign ministers and security experts from across the world.

Meanwhile in an interview with a German newspaper in Munich earlier in the day, Qureshi said that Pakistan has always been in favour of dialogue with Afghan Taliban regarding peace in Afghanistan, which is imperative for development and progress of entire region.

The foreign minister said that today Pakistan’s stance regarding peace in Afghanistan is being vindicated.
