Pakistan focusing on economic-driven foreign policy based on non-interference: Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is focusing on economic-driven foreign policy based on non-interference in other countries’ affairs, the prime minister’s advisor on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz said in an interview.

The prime minister’s advisor said that foreign policy is being given a new dimension to ensure national integrity, progress, peace and stability in the country.

“Pakistan is also working on the policy of non-interference in other neighbouring countries, including India, to bring peace and stability in the region leading to prosperity of the people,” he said.

The advisor said that Pakistan has been facilitating intra-Afghan dialogue for Afghan reconciliation for the last three years, but unfortunately our efforts were not reciprocated and dialogue process could not continue.

Regarding deportation of Pakistanis from Saudi Arabia, he said that about 20,000 illegal Pakistanis have been deported, while the Saudi government has agreed to regularize 900,000 Pakistanis working in the kingdom.
