ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar has expressed grief and sorrow over the human casualties and damages caused by severe earthquake in Morocco.

In a statement on Saturday, Kakar extended his condolences to the government and people of Morocco over the loss of precious lives.

The interim prime minister expressed his sympathies with the affected families. He said that in this hour of difficulty, Pakistan stands with the brave people and government of Morocco and will provide them all possible support.

“Our hearts ache for those affected by the severe earthquake in Morocco. Pakistan extends its hand in unity and support to Morocco in this trying time,” said the caretaker prime minister separately in a Tweet.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, 71 kilometers (44 miles) south-west of Marrakesh, at a depth of 18.5 kilometers.

The Morocco’s Interior Ministry said that the earthquake killed people in the provinces and municipalities of al-Haouz, Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant,

The earthquake also destroyed buildings, sending residents of Morocco’s major cities rushing from their homes.
