The Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan has been in Pakistan army’s custody since yesterday (February 27, 2019) after Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down his MiG-21 fighter jet in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).
Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the statement of the US President Donald Trump regarding interference to de-escalate tension between Pakistan and India.
While briefing media men following the Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad today, Qureshi said that Pakistan has decades old relations with the United States and its interference will be helpful in establishment of peace in the region.
Earlier the US President Donald Trump at a Press Conference in Hanoi on Thursday expressed the hope of de-escalation of tension between Pakistan and India.
Donald Trump said that the US has been mediating between them and trying to have them stop. He hoped that there would be some reasonably decent news about ending the ongoing conflict between the two Countries.
