NEW DELHI, India: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will meet the Indian Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar in the United States later this month.

The meeting will be held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly Session, the Indian media reported on Tuesday.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi will accompany Prime Minister Imran Khan on his visit to the United States wherein he will address the UN general assembly in New York on September 27, the same when the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a speech at the session.

If Qureshi-Jaishankar meeting occurs in New York, it would be the first highest level diplomatic meeting between Pakistan and India. The two neighbouring Countries have already reached almost on the verge of a war over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

The bilateral diplomatic and trade relations remain suspended while Qureshi has multiple times ruled out any talks with India as a protest against New Delhi’s unilateral and illegal move to annex the Occupied Kashmir on August 5.

On the other hand, the Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today again reiterated that the Pakistan-administered Kashmir is a part of India, and said that we expect one day we will have physical jurisdiction over it.
