Pakistan, Indonesian army chiefs discuss matters of mutual interest

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif held a meeting with the Chief of Staff of Indonesian Army and discussed matters of mutual interest, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

The ISPR said that the discussions focused on regional security issues, the bilateral military relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia and measures to further expand the defence and security cooperation.

On arrival at the Indonesian Army Headquarters, the COAS was presented Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of Indonesian Army.

Later, the COAS visited the Indonesia Peace and Security Center where he held detailed interaction with participant on counter terrorism and highlighted achievements of Pakistan in ongoing fight against terrorism.

The COAS left for Indonesia on Monday on a three-day official visit on the special invitation of Indonesian Defence Authorities.
