BEIJING, China: The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that Pakistan is China’s irreplaceable, all-weather friend and that both countries are part of community of shared destiny.
Wang Yi made these remarks in a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif who called on him in Beijing on Monday.
The army chief was in China for a two-day visit to hold meetings with China’s political and military leadership to discuss issues pertaining to security and defence cooperation between the two countries.
The COAS also held a meeting with the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng in Beijing today.
During the meeting, Yu Zhengsheng said that Pakistan has always stood by China. He said that Pakistan is our most reliable friend.
Yu Zhengsheng said that the government and people of China help and stand by Pakistan it in all respects.
In another meeting, Meng Jianzhu, member Politburo, the second highest council within the Communist Party, assured the army chief that China has consistent policy on Pakistan that is beyond individuals, adding that Pakistan’s concern is China’s concern.
The COAS thanked the Chinese leaders for support, and said that the world must understand evolving environment.
General Raheel said that greater international focus and coordination needed to logically conclude fight against terrorism.
