ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan Dr Farooq Sattar has said that we have to revisit our foreign policy in light of our larger national interests.
Taking part in motion moved by the Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid in National Assembly regarding the situation arising out of the US President Donald Trump’s speech focusing new US policy in Afghanistan and South Asia, Farooq Sattar said that Pakistan’s foreign policy should be formulated in larger interests of the Country while keeping in-view the US policy.
“We should not provide more space to US do more policy,” the MQM Pakistan Chief said.
Farooq Sattar said that Pakistan–US relations witnessed ups and downs many times in past. However, he said there was dire need to change this challenge into an opportunity.
The MQM Pakistan Chief said that his party had already strongly denounced the US president’s policy and baseless allegations against Pakistan.
Dr Farooq Sattar also lauded Pakistani people and armed forces for rendering supreme sacrifices in war against terrorism. He said that around 80,000 innocent civilians and personnel of law and enforcing agencies had laid down their lives in war against terrorism so far.
Farooq Sattar suggested that overseas Pakistanis including doctors, engineers and others should be involved to counter Indian lobbying in the United States.
