ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has lifted the condition of a no-objection certificate (NOC) for foreigners to undertake a countrywide tour even in military controlled cantonment areas, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

The initiative has been taken as per “Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision is to make Pakistan a heaven for tourists and following new Visa regime this important policy decision of ending NOC requirements is a leap forward,” the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said in a twitter message on Tuesday.

Under the regulation of move of foreign nationals in Pakistan, free movement of foreigners shall be allowed in Open Cantonments except prohibited and restricted areas with visible signboards. The Border Crossings will be open and non-restricted.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Chitral shall be non-restricted/non-prohibited except 10 miles area of Pak-China Border, 10 miles area of Pak-Afghan Border (Wakhan Corridor), 05 miles area of AJK (along LoC), 05 miles area of GB (along LoC) and 10 miles area of Siachin (along Line of Actual Contact).

Earlier on March 14, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled the new Pakistan Visa Regime for 190 Countries as part of efforts to promote tourism and investments in the Country.

“It is our first step toward ‘Naya Pakistan’ (News Pakistan),”the prime minister said while addressing the ceremony for E-visa launch in Islamabad.
