Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Pakistani medical students studying in Kyrgyzstan has placed Pakistan at Silk Route Exhibition here at Bishkek by erecting an impressive stall showcasing Pakistani products including handicrafts, clothes, cuisine, dresses and posters exhibiting beauty of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan His Excellency Faisal Niaz Tirmizi visited stall on Friday and welcomed dignitaries who visited Pakistan stall.
Silk Route Exhibition is an annual feature in Kyrgyzstan which is organized under the patronage of former President of Kyrgyzstan for three weeks where all countries are given an opportunity to showcase their culture, cuisine, dresses and tourist attractions.
This year the festival was started on April 5 and will continue till April 28.
Pakistani students also performed their traditional dances like Atan and Balti dance at the Festival and also sang national songs. Pakistani female students put on their traditional clothes from all four provinces, Kashmir and Baltistan.
Former President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otambayeva visited Pakistani stall on Friday and she was accompanying by Uzbek Ambassador Kamil Rashidov and Afghan Ambassador Muhammad Essa Misbah.
While visiting the stall former Prime Minister fondly recalled her numerous meetings with the Pakistani leadership especially former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. She particularly lauded excellent work put in by Pakistani students along with the embassy in showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan. At least 30000 guests are expected to attend the festival.
Many Ambassadors and senior government Ministers and officials also visited the Pakistani stall.
