ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Indian forces once again resorted to unprovoked firing in Nikial Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) and martyred one Civilian while also injured four others.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Foreign Office said that the latest incident of ceasefire violation by the Indian occupation forces took place in Nikial Sector on June 28 which resulted in Shahadat of 22-year-old Abdul Wahab, a resident of Dothilla Village.
While the injured Civilians included 25-year-old Muhammad Shakeel, Muhamad Arshad, Asif Mahmood and 32-year-old Safira Biba. All the injured persons hailed form Mohra Village.
The Foreign Office further said that in order to register Pakistan’s protest over the cross border firing, the Director General (South Asia & SAARC) Dr. Muhammad Faisal summoned the Acting Indian Deputy High Commissioner Raghuram and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces.
The Director General (SA & SAARC) said that the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.
Dr. Muhammad Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
