ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan is pursuing a policy of preferential trade over financial aid.

While addressing a seminar in Islamabad on Tuesday, the advisor said that mutual cooperation at provincial and national level is underway to achieve the goals of sustainable development. He said that with commitment and maturity, economic progress is being assured.

Sartaj Aziz said that by investing in common man, many issues within a state can be averted before they arise or get worse.

The advisor said that nondiscriminatory approach and optimum utilization of resources is imperative for ending poverty.

Furthermore, he said that the delay of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Conference halted the progress in economic and social sectors.

Sartaj Aziz also said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) vivifies the deeply rooted and exemplary relations between China and Pakistan.

The advisor said that progress and stability in the region is possible through regional connectivity and mutual sharing of experiences in different fields.
