DG ISPR terms Indian Army Chief’s statement highly irresponsible

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Terming the statement of the Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat highly irresponsible, the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that Pakistan is ready to answer any misadventure by India.

In response to a statement by the Indian Army Chief in which he said that India needs to take stern action against Pakistan to avenge the barbarism that its army is carrying out, the DG ISPR said that Indian Army Chief’s statement is highly irresponsible.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said that it is an era of political economy and Pakistan’s stance is for peace. However, he added that Pakistan’s desire for peace shouldn’t be considered a sign of weakness.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan is moving towards positive relevance, adding that Pakistan is part of the solution.

Earlier talking to media, the Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat further said that India will have to respond to Pakistan in their own language.

General Bipin Rawat should not play as a tool of BJP, says Fawad Chaudhry

Separately talking to PTV News, the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the statements by the Indian Army Chief are not appropriate.

Fawad Chaudhry said that General Bipin Rawat should not play as tool of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The minister said that the International community knows it very well that who wants war and who wants peace. He said that Pakistan will continue its efforts for maintaining peace in the region.

The Indian Army Chief’s statement was tantamount to further flaming the rapidly deteriorating diplomatic ties between Pakistan and India. Though skirmish at the border between forces of the two Countries has become a routine matter now for a while but now exchange of harsh words at the diplomatic level following the cancelation of agreed bilateral talks in New York by India has further minimized the chances of normalization of relations between the two arch rivals.
